2 Year Pictures

Last week I took Addie in for her 2 year pictures at Kiddie Kandids. We've never had great luck there because she always thinks the photographers are crazy and strange. I swear- she can be smiling and happy one second and as soon as we start taking pictures, she will not smile! I always have to someone else with me because otherwise, we'd never be able to get her to smile at all!

She wasn't too fond of the vest. When I first got it out she told me she didn't want to wear it. Luckily, it was cold outside and she put it on because I told her it would keep her warm. She forgot about it by the time we were ready to take pictures.

She did a little better this time- we got a few good shots!

P.S. We've had stuff going on the last few weeks but I've been working like crazy and just haven't been able to find time to post. I'll try to catch up soon!

The Celebration Continues...

Addie turned two last week! I was so happy to be here to celebrate with her (last year we were coming home from Brazil). I can't believe I have a two year old! She is an amazing little girl and we are so happy to have her in our family. She has brought so much joy and excitement into our home.

After having her friend party on Friday, we continued to celebrate on Saturday (her actual birthday). I tried to start the morning off by singing Happy Birthday to her and video taping her, but her room was too dark and she was less than thrilled to have a bright light shining in her face after just waking up.

We had wrapped her presents the night before so they were ready for her when she woke up. She opened the first three (an Elmo's World DVD, two books and some play oven mitts) and just as she was getting ready to open the last, big one, I asked her what she thought it was. She very quickly & casually replied, "It's a baby". She caught me totally by surprise! She was right though!

She was very excited about her baby. She wanted to take it out of the packaging immediately and we just couldn't get it undone fast enough.

A little later that morning, we headed up to the Zoo. The weather was beautiful, it wasn't too crowded and the animals were very active. Unfortunately, Addie wasn't feeling too great so she wasn't as excited as she usually is. She wanted me to carry her a lot of the time. Before we left, we decided to get a little snack. We let her pick hers and what did she pick? Popcorn! A True Cullimore!

That night, we had a fun get together with Addie's aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. Clay made Elmo out of the cupcakes and Addie loved it!

She got some fun presents- including a bunch of dress-up shoes (which she calls her flip flops) and accessories for her baby.

Thanks everyone for coming to celebrate with us! We had a great time and hope you did too! We love you all!

Happy Birthday Addie! We love you so much!

Happy Birthday, Pookie!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Addie!!! We love you so much!

Mom & Dad

Birthday Party!

This morning we had a Birthday Party with some of Addie's friends. We had a Sesame Street themed party (although, depending on the day- it was an Elmo party or a Zoe party according to Addie). I think I was the most excited about it out of everyone!

The Birthday Girl

We had a great time. The balloons were a huge hit! We covered the coffee table with craft paper and taped coloring pages to the top. We colored, watched Elmo's World, played with toys, made fruit loop necklaces, and had chocolate cupcakes (Addie's choice) and ice cream!
At the end, we opened presents and then the kids played with the toys. Thanks to all of Addie's friends who came and thank you for the presents! She loves them! We hope you had fun!
Here are a some pictures of the festivities!

I can't wait for tomorrow! I can't believe she's going to be two!

P.S. Sorry about the spacing on some of the paragraphs. I've tried to fix it a million times and it just won't work. By the way,I had to do two posts in one night to catch up so if you didn't see the Halloween post, keep reading!

Halloween & "Tickle Treating"

We had some fun Halloween festivities this year. We were in Brazil last year so this is technically our first Halloween with her. We've been talking to Addie about it for a month or so now- trying to help her understand it and figure out what costume to wear.

We brought home a box of costumes from my mom's house and thought we'd give those a try first. She had absolutely no interest. We finally got her to at least try on a Baby Bop (from Barney) costume for a second so we opted for that one (even though it was a little big).

We had a ward party on the 27th and she would not put on her costume (despite talking about it all day). When it came time for the trunk-or-treat, we finally got her to wear the hat because we told her she couldn't get any candy without it.

On Monday, we carved our pumpkins. Addie thought it was fun to watch but didn't like touching the slimey insides! Clay did a great job!

Clay really wanted Addie to wear a real costume on Halloween so on Tuesday night, we ventured out to see what we could find. We found a Dorothy dress and luckily, Target had some sparkly red shoes to go with it! They were a little big, but that's never stopped Addie before!
Since it was really just a "dress", we thought this would be easy to get her to wear. We were wrong! She put up a fight on Halloween morning (she just wanted to wear the shoes and socks) but we perservered and she wore the dress the whole day! We thought she was the cutest little Dorothy!

We had a busy Halloween, we started with my cousins' elementary school parade, then went trick-or-treating (Addie calls it "tickle treating") at Grandma's house and Daddy's work. After her nap we headed over to the city Haunted City Hall for more "tickle treating" and other activities with Grandpa. She loved going up and down in the "alligator" (aka elevator).

After dinner, we headed out with our neighbors to trick-or-treat around the neighborhood. We thought we'd just go to a few houses here and there and then be back home after about 30 min. Boy were we wrong! We were out for an hour and a half! That's got to be a record for an almost 2 year old! We couldn't believe it! She really got into it and had a great time. She raked in the candy- her pumpkin bucket was stuffed full.

We stopped by Gaga's house after so she could see Addie in her costume. There were tons of leaves outside and Addie loved walking in them and kicking them around.

We finally knew it was time to go home when I walked in the kitchen and found her laying on the floor! She NEVER does that! It was a very fun and busy day and she was TIRED!

Sorry it was so long! Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!
