Haircut!
Addie's hair was getting pretty long so we decided to take her for a haircut. It was quite the ordeal and she ended up having to sit on my lap to get it cut but we finally managed to calm her down and get it done. Even though it was just a trim- we couldn't believe what a difference it made!

Lagoon
Earlier this month, we took Addie to Lagoon. It was a really hot day, there were long lines and she missed her nap but we had a good time.
Clay had to drag her on the first ride but once it started going she loved it. I was a little worried about her staying seated on the rides but she did great. She especially loved any ride where she could "drive".
She loved the bumper cars and went on them about 5 times! It took her a few times to figure out what to do when she got stuck in a jam.
She even convinced her dad to win her two stuffed dogs (she now has a collection of 8-9 stuffed dogs). What a nice Dad!

The "Lady" Bunch
As has been indicated in a few different posts, Addie enjoys watching "The Brady Bunch" or "The Lady Bunch" as she calls it. She loves the theme song and sings it all the time (and asks us to sing it to her at night/naps).
This is the best rendition I've been able to get on video so far- she's doing what Addie does best....CONSTANT MOTION!

Success!
I've been waiting a little while to post this because I didn't want to jinx myself.
She completed her last potty chart on July 28th and got the prize she had been working for since we started- her very own pink scooter with a basket.
She is even staying dry during naps and at night (though we're still doing pull-ups for those just in case) which was not completely expected yet. We are even to the point where I can usually just let her tell me when she has to go.
We have had a few accidents but honestly- we have been very lucky (knock on wood). One night, she came in from playing outside to get something. She'd been gone for a little while so I went to check on her and she was crying because she'd had an accident on the kitchen floor. The next morning she told Clay that she had a "sad problem in the kitchen last night".
We are so proud of her! It feels so good to get this out of the way. Now we are working on her going by herself (instead of having to tell me and me go stand there) and we are hoping that she'll be used to it long enough before the baby comes that we don't see any or too much regression once he's here!

Addie and Bennett
This post is long overdue. We have posted about Bennett before- he is Addie's friend that lives down the street. According to Addie, he is her "best friend" even more than Daddy.
They spend a lot of time together, usually seeing each other at least once a day. They get along pretty well most of the time,there are occasional fights but it's usually over in a few minutes and then they are happily playing together again. It's funny to listen to their conversations and to watch them play together.
Weddings and getting married have been an occasional topic of discussion since we had Gaga's wedding in May, but it usually is Addie telling us she's going to marry Gaga or one of us. Anytime she sees a bouquet of flowers- she thinks someone is getting married. I guess Bennett watched his parents wedding video and decided he was going to marry Addie. One night, he came out and told her he was going to marry her and she came running over to me saying, "Mom! I'm going to marry Bennett!" A few minutes later, Bennett came over and asked her if he could have carrot cake at his wedding. It was hilarious. I guess he's trying to get his opinions in early!
Now, if you ask Addie who she is going to marry, she'll tell you she's going to marry Bennett, in the big white temple. The cake has evolved to pink carrot cake (although, not sure Bennett knows/agrees with this). We were at Costco the other day and she saw their flowers. Our conversation went something like this:
Addie: Mom, we should get me those pink flowers so I can marry Bennett.
Me: Oh really? But Daddy doesn't want you to get married and leave us.
Addie: But I just want to! I'll come back and see you!
A few weekends ago when we were at the Homestead (where Gaga got married), we approached the building where Gaga was married and Addie exclaimed, "Mom! It's MY wedding!" It was so funny!
While it is probably a little early to talk about marriage and weddings, it's pretty cute to hear them talk about it.
We have way too many cute pictures of them- so I put together this slideshow- the pictures go way back to January of last year!

Happy Anniversary
This month, Clay and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe that we've been married for 8 years! I am so grateful to have such a wonderful companion by my side. He is a wonderful husband, father, uncle, brother and much more. I couldn't ask for anyone better. Thanks for everything.
