Addie's New Song

Addie sang the following song in the car tonight:

(Tune is the primary song, A Happy Family)

I love Bennett, yes sirree,
He loves me and so you see,
We are a happy family.

When Clay tells her he doesn't want her to get married and leave him, she tells him that it's okay, he can go with her.

Gotta love kids!

First Snow

This was actually a few weeks ago but Addie enjoyed it so much that I had to do a post on it.

A few weeks ago, we woke up to some unexpected snow....and quite a bit of it too! I had taken Will to the Dr. and when I got back (probably 10am), Addie was ready to go outside and play. If you know Addie, it takes quite a bit to get her motivated to be dressed and ready to go before 10:30!

Unfortunately, Will was sleeping so I couldn't go out and play with her. I figured she'd only last a few minutes anyway so I just watched her out the window. She LOVED it. She especially loved eating it (yuck!). She went out and played in the snow by herself FOUR times that day! I couldn't believe it. She definitely doesn't get that from us! The older we get- the more we dislike the snow!

Addie is 3!

Addie turned three years old last week! I can't believe it was 3 years ago we were doing all this newborn stuff with her! Ever since we had Will, she has seemed so much older and bigger to me!

We didn't want her to feel overshadowed with the new baby so we did some fun things for her birthday. The Saturday before her birthday, we took her to Build A Bear to build a stuffed animal. We were sure we weren't getting out of there without another dog, but she ended up choosing a kitty. We also had princess cupcakes.

On Sun
day, my mom made spaghetti for dinner and rice krispies and smores for dessert- a perfect Addie meal! That night, they spoiled her with a BUNCH of princess stuff that she loved! She had been eyeing the princess CD player for a long time so she was thrilled when she opened it. Here is a video of her shaking her bootie (and being a little silly) to her princess CD player.

On her actual birthday, I took her to the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum at her request (Grandma watched Will so we could have some special time). She had a great time, made a few friends and I had to drag her out of there when it was time to go. It's such a great place for kids!

That night, Gaga & Rex came over with two doll cakes for Addie. They were pretty cool- Addie loved them! She called the blue one her Cinderella cake because it had a blue dress like Cinderella. I've never seen Addie eat so much cake! She also opened her presents and was thrilled with her tools! She's got her own toolbox with plenty of room so Santa may be bringing some more!

Happy Birthday Pook! We love you so much!

Halloween

I know Halloween was a little while ago but I wanted to post some pictures from it.

We had a church party the Saturday before Halloween- I took Addie while Clay stayed with Will. She needed a little Mommy time. It was fun- we had dinner, the kids played, decorated cookies and then they trick or treated to the classrooms. I wasn't sure Addie was going to wear her costume (last year she wouldn't) but she even let me curl her hair for it!

A couple nights before Halloween, we carved our pumpkins. Addie didn't like the pumpkin guts at all- but she loved the little carving set that we were using to carve them!

Halloween was a pretty quiet day for us- we were around here most of the morning. I tried to put Addie down for an early nap but it took her forever to go to sleep. We finally had to wake her up so we could go to the city offices to trick or treat and see Grandpa. Will slept the whole time we were there.

Afterward, we headed over to see Gaga and to visit a couple of our old neighbors before heading back home for trick or treating.

Addie had a fun time trick or treating but she came in sooner than last year- not that she didn't get enough candy! Her pumpkin was full! We took Will out in his giraffe costume for a few houses- till it started sprinkling! He was happy to get his costume off.

First Two Weeks

Will is two weeks old now. I can't believe how fast it's gone- yet it feels like so long ago that I was pregnant!

The first week and a half was better than we could have ever expected. He slept- a lot, and without being held! It was so nice- very different from his sister at that age. He hates getting his diaper changed and screams like a cat getting mauled almost every time we change him. He also seems to be a big eater compared to his sister- easily taking 2-3 oz. almost every 2 hours!

The last few days he's been awake more often and we've also been dealing with some tummy issues or possibly some reflux. We are in the process of trying out some different formulas to see if we can get it fixed because we don't like seeing our happy, content little guy all fussy!

Addie loves to hold him, feed him, burp him, rub his head, give him his binkie when he cries, rub noses with him, lay her head on his, and on occasion loves to bug him when he's sleeping. She has been a great big sister- and seems to enjoy having him around for the most part.

We are so happy to have him with us. We think he's such a handsome little guy with his perfect little head. It has been an adjustment to have two kids but we are making it through with the help of our family and friends!

Happenings during his first two weeks of life: First Dr. Visit, lots of visitors, picnic at the park, lots of being held by his big sister, visit to both grandparents houses, trick or treating, lots of poopy diapers, peeing all over the place (gotta love boys), and lots of sleeping (yay)!
