Not a true Blackham?

We gave Will his first taste of an OREO the other day. He wasn't really impressed- especially with the filling. Is he really a Blackham? Maybe he just needed some milk to dip it in!

He does enjoy a piece of licorice though....

Seems like just yesterday...

that we were the ones looking through the toy ads dreaming about what we wanted for Christmas. Now it's our kids doing it! They are growing up way too fast!

Both of our kids love to look at the toy ads we get in the mail. Here is a video of Addie looking at the Toys R Us Big Book and then singing her own version of "Dora The Explorer" theme song (which I think is hilarious).

Addie's 4th Birthday- Blackham Party

We celebrated Addie's birthday with the Blackham side of the family, the night of her actual birthday.

We hurried home from our outing at Boondocks to meet everyone at our house. Addie was so excited to have everyone over! We had a Tinkerbell themed party which included party hats and a very yummy, cupcake pull apart cake!

Addie was so excited, here is a conversation we had at least twice before we got going on the party.
Addie: Mom, I think everyone is here. We can start.
Me: Um, I don't see Gaga.
Addie: Oh, I don't think she's coming. She's just going to stay home.
Me: She's coming...we need to wait! Crazy girl!

Once Gaga arrived, we sang Happy Birthday and she blew out her candles.

The kids all played and had a good time, then Addie opened her presents. Earlier that day, she had said to me, "Mom, can I get the swim dog for my next birthday?" (this was one thing we knew she really wanted so we got it for her- but she just hadn't opened our present yet!) Anyway, she was really excited to open up our present and find the Swim Dog she'd been hoping for!

She also opened her present from Gaga and was thrilled to find a Belle dress for her dress-up collection!

What a birthday! She was totally spoiled with all the presents she got! Thanks to everyone who made it such a great day!!

She's 4!!

Addie had a full day on her actual birthday! She started off the day in her usual manner- warm chocolate milk in a sippy cup and some TV. It was a school day so we had to hurry and get ready and get out the door. I got her a little pin to wear that said "I'm 4 years old today" and she wore it proudly.

I was the helper at school that day! It was fun to be there and spend that time with her. She took oreos and milk for her birthday treat (the milk was for dipping of course!) and was a little quiet and shy while they sang to her. It was very cute.

After school, we went to pick Will up from Grandma's house, to Target to pick up her birthday cake and then stopped by to say hi to Grandpa at his office.

Once we finally got home, her friend Lily, came over to watch the new Tinkerbell movie with her. She brought Addie Snow White on DVD for her birthday and Addie was so happy. They got all dressed up in princess dresses (just like they always do) and had popcorn while they watched the movie.

Her friend, Bennett (and family), stopped by to say hello and bring her a present! She was happy to see Bennett and of course, thrilled to be getting another present!

When Will was up from his nap and Clay was home from work, we took the kids over to Boondocks. Addie loves going there to play the arcade games and can breeze through $10 in tokens in about 30 min. She was so happy to be there. Her skeeball skills had definitely improved since the last time. Both kids loved looking at all the prizes and Addie was kind enough to pick a treat for her little brother with all her winnings.

Once we were done there, we headed back home for party #2.....
