Weenie Roast

We attended the annual Crandall Orchard Weenie Roast at the end of April. It is a tradition in their family and this is our 2nd time going. Last year it rained and it looked like we were going to be rained on again this year but we got lucky and it cleared up just as we were getting started!

Before we started with dinner, we had one last egg hunt. Grandma and Grandpa hid a lot of eggs and my kids came home with way too many of them! It was fun though- Grandpa always finds good hiding places for them!

Then we roasted hot dogs over the fire and had lots of other good food for dinner. The kids loved holding their sticks over the fire!

The icing on the cake for both kids was the tractor rides with Uncle Chris. I had to pull Will off crying because he just wanted to keep riding! He loved it!

Thanks to the Crandall family for hosting us!

P.S. We stopped to see baby James before heading over to the orchard. He's growing so quickly. Addie decided she was comfortable holding him this time and then couldn't get enough. She told us she's an "expert with babies". Will enjoyed having a turn holding him too.

Easter

The kids slept in on Easter morning so they had to wait till after church to see if the Easter bunny came or not! It was actually nice to have a quiet Easter morning and enjoy church and the real meaning of Easter before we started in on all the candy and commercialism.

I was able to take a few pictures of them in their Easter Best before we headed out to church! Addie looked beautiful and Will looked so handsome!

This one was just too funny not to share!

As soon as we got home from church, they ran to their baskets to see what they got. The easter bunny took it easy this year! They each got a book, some chalk, a shovel, pinwheel and some bunny glasses!

After they examined their baskets, they headed out back to find all the eggs he had hidden! There were a lot of eggs filled with candy, chocolate and money!

Will didn't waste any time. He sat down right inside the door and went to work opening all of his eggs and getting any and all candy out and opened!

He also had some fun decorating himself with stickers from his new Elmo sticker book!

Later that day, we headed up to Gaga's house for dinner and more celebrating. She thought everyone would be tired of egg hunts so opted for a pinata instead! Only the youngest two or three kids actually got to hit it before it broke open! The kids had fun wearing the pinata as hats and playing with their cousins!!

Such a fun Easter!

Easter Events

We were so glad that Easter was in April this year instead of March! It was still pretty chilly out but at least we didn't have to wear our winter coats for the outdoor activities!

We had an Easter Egg Hunt in the backyard with some of our friends from the old neighborhood! There were over 100 eggs and they were all found in less than 5 minutes!

Addie had a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's house and they took her to the city egg hunt! she got her face painted and a few fun prizes!

We dyed eggs and decorated cookies with our friends, The Pratt's! Kristin was totally prepared for a disaster and luckily there were no major ones but a few close calls including blue food coloring being flung into my face and into Will's hair and lots of sprinkles everywhere!! The kids had fun though!
