May Update

I'm so far behind on the blogging...to try and catch up, I'm going to do a photo update for the month of May!




We started off the month of May in our new house!!! Lots of boxes to unpack and lots of space to run and play. The weather was a little warmer so we were also able to spend some time outside on the driveway (no yard yet). We are just loving it here!!!


Addie & Clay did a Build and Grow workshop at Lowe's where she built a little schoolhouse that she gave to her preschool teacher. She was LOVING being able to hammer the nails in by herself.


Mother's Day was a great day! I was able to sleep in a little bit, followed by breakfast in bed from my wonderful husband and kids! We went to church and then to Gaga's house for a BBQ. I love being a mom!








We got started on our patio in the backyard with the help of Grandpa Rex and some wonderful neighbors!




Then the patio progress got de-railed by the crappy, cold weather...

We had Grandpa over for Sunday dinner TWO times!! The kids loved it!



Addie got to have two of her good friends (Merckx and Cameron) from school over for a playdate! (by the way- impossible to get three 4 yr olds to look at the camera at the same time)!


Warmer weather means more time outside eating popsicles, playing with friends (and their toys) and getting to know our neighbors!




Had family movie night one Friday and watched "Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel" which prompted Addie to make up a little singing and dancing number...(no, we have no idea what she's singing but most of the moves look like they are influenced by the Stayin' Alive song in the movie).

Addie finished up her first year of preschool and had a little program (will do a separate post on that!)

Addie went to a birthday party for a friend and Cinderella came! She was so excited!

We wrapped up May with our annual Blackham trip to Grandpa Gordy's grave and Will's first "theater" movie- Shrek 4 (almost lasted the whole movie!) over Memorial Day weekend.



Whew! Finally done! Now, onto June since it's almost over!

Salt Lake Half Marathon

On April 17th, Clay ran the Salt Lake Half Marathon- he did a great job, especially considering the amount of training he did (or lack of...)! He finished in 2:05.

This was my first attempt at taking the kids to a race finish by myself. I was a little worried that I might lose a child or something but with Will in the stroller and Addie being a good girl and keeping her hand glued to the stroller handle, we made it to the finish together. We found our spot and kept watch for Clay. I managed to get Addie on my shoulders, a camera in one hand and keeping an eye on Will in the stroller who just had to look at everyone's legs. :)

We managed to catch Clay just as he was heading in to the finish!! We were so glad we were there (even though it pretty much took the promise of breakfast at McDonald's from Gaga to get Addie there). We met up with Gaga and Grandpa Rex and Uncle Gray (who also ran it) at the end.




We finally headed to McDonald's and then came over to show the new house to Grandpa Rex since he hadn't seen it before. Here are a few pictures from when it was empty. Will was super tired so the only way he would be happy was sitting on the floor watching a show on my phone. Then promptly passed out in the car on the way home!




Congratulations Clay! We love you and are so proud of you!

Nice Weather! Yay!

We had a good stretch of nice weather in mid-April so we took advantage and played outside as much as we could. The kids really love being outside and can't wait for it to get warm and STAY warm. Can you believe that we had at least two more snowstorms since these pictures were taken?! CRAZY!
