Pumpkin Patch

One Monday night for FHE, we headed up to Gaga's house to visit a pumpkin patch near her house. We already had a few pumpkins we had grown but it's fun going to the pumpkin patch this time of year! Adrian, Ana, Aidan and Amare came too.

We got up there just as the sun was going down so we snapped a few photos of the kids and the pumpkins before they raced off to the maze and the field of pumpkins. They had some giant pumpkins there!!

The kids had fun playing in the maze and with the cutouts.

They especially enjoyed walking around the pumpkin fields looking for good pumpkins! They kept bringing them over and putting them in the cart!

We ended up buying a big 62 lb pumpkin and a couple small ones for our front porch! They make it look nice and festive!

Pumpkins in the Park

Addie was out of school for fall break the last half of October but her teacher did a little Pumpkins in the Park "field trip" to Wheeler Farm one of the days. The parents had to bring the kids so not everyone came but there were a few!

Everyone brought a pumpkin and got to paint it.....Will LOVED this part and I finally had to make him stop painting his pumpkin after the third layer of paint.

After painting pumpkins, we ate lunch and then the kids played on the new playground.

We finished it up by walking around to see all the animals and feeding the ducks! It was a beautiful fall day to be outside!

Birthday Mania

Since Addie and Will's birthdays are two weeks apart, we like to host a family party for both kids and both sides of the family to get together. The kids were SO excited!

We made three soups (chicken and wild rice, broccoli cheese- Addie's request, and taco soup- Will's favorite) and had rolls, veggies, fruit, chips and salsa, pumpkin cheesecake truffles and of course, cupcakes. Many were hoping for Clay's homemade donuts but there just wasn't enough time this year.

Addie usually gets a "friend" party so we decorate for Will's birthday at this party. He went back and forth between a Thomas the Train themed party and his new obsession, Cars. I finally just picked Cars stuff for him.

We only invited aunts, uncles, grandparents, great grandparents and cousins and it was still a lot of people! We were so glad that everyone could make it. The kids loved all the attention. It was nice to visit and chat and we are so glad that our families all get along so well.

After some eating and playing, we finally sang Happy Birthday to the kids and had them blow out their candles. Addie had so many candles on hers, it looked like a bonfire! I love the looks on their faces when they are being sung to...a little embarrassed but so happy.

After cupcakes, they finally got to open their presents. Everyone was so nice to bring them presents...they are such lucky kids to have such loving family!

Will's first present was some die cast Cars and he would have been happy with just those! He couldn't wait for Dad to get them open and had to go play with them before opening the rest of his presents.

Can't leave out Grandpa's awesome wrapping job...

They both got some great toys and all of them have had a ton of playing time by both kids!

Thank you to everyone in both of our families for making it a special day for our kids. We love and appreciate all of you!!

More birthday stuff to come!!!
