June Fun

We have been having lots of fun this summer and we are REALLY enjoying having our backyard finished!!! Here is some of what we did in June!

Fun with friends...

Playing with Grandma and baby James!

Trips to the library and out to lunch!

Movie night outside with the neighbors!

Cooking classes with Grandma and 2nd cousins!

Sprinklers and all sorts of other water fun (and check out Will's awesome farmer tan!)...

Clay has all the neighborhood kids hooked on paracord bracelets and he's their new best friend!!

Complete

We got a table and chairs for the back patio and I finally feel like our backyard is complete! Of course, there will always be new things to do and more things to add (we still need trees and flowers back there) but having a table back there gives us somewhere to sit, places to eat, and just gives it a purpose! We love our new table and have already enjoyed many opportunities to use it!! It's been so nice!

Will loved "helping" Clay put the table and chairs together.

The table came in a huge box and Addie couldn't wait for us to get it open so she could use the box as a clubhouse. She and her friends sat inside that HOT box for hours coloring and decorating every inch of it. I think at one point she had at least 5 people in there! Silly girls!

Father's Day

The kids love any reason to celebrate but they have their dad's patience for giving gifts! I bought his Father's Day present over a month before the actual day but had to hide it and keep it a secret till the day before!

Clay was gone on a scout campout so we got it out, wrapped it and the kids each made him a picture. They were so excited for him to come home and had to give it to him right away! They wouldn't even let him change his clothes or take a shower!

We gave him one of those anti gravity lounge chairs- so they opened it up and took it outside to test it out!

On Father's Day, we went to visit Grandpa Gord's grave. We hadn't made it there this year yet- and it seemed a fitting way to spend Father's Day. Addie picked some roses from her "Daddy's Girl" rose bush to put on the grave.

We are lucky to have so many great men in our lives who are wonderful examples of a good Father. Grandpa Gord, Grandpa Rex, and Papa....we love you all so much!

We especially love our Dad! Thanks for everything. There aren't words to express my gratitude and love for you, and the amazing husband you are to me and father you are to our kids.

Happy Father's Day to the best Dad! We love you so much.

Feeding the Ducks

The kids love going over to Old Farm to feed the ducks at the pond. Especially when there are lots of baby ones! We headed over one weekday to feed the ducks and check in on my grandparents (their great-grandparents).

We came armed with two packages of stale hot dog/hamburger buns and they went through it really fast! There were plenty of geese, goslings, ducks, ducklings and CARP big enough to eat the ducklings! Those were Will's favorite things to feed!

A visit to Grandpa and Grandma Cook's isn't complete without some rides on the wheelchair!
