January Activities

January is usually an uneventful (except for Clay's birthday) and long month for us...so here are some of the things we've been doing!

Clay took Addie ice skating up at "the spa" (Cottonwood Heights Rec Center) with the scouts. This was her first time ice skating and she had a great time and did really well! She can't wait to go again!

I starting taking Will to story time at the Herriman Library with a few of the neighbor kids. He loves it and it's nice to have something to do with just him while Addie is at school!

Got more "decor" put up in our family room! It finally feels like it's not a big empty room! Thanks for your help Mom and Kristin!

Addie got to go have a sleepover at Grandma's house! She packed a whole bunch of stuff to do and was gone for less than 24 hours but somehow they managed to squeeze most of it in, along with the things Grandma already had planned! She even got a pretty good night of sleep! Clay and I took Will out for ice cream!

Clay had a campout with the scouts so me and the kids had a movie night and watched Despicable Me. The next morning, Aunt Cardin came over and helped us at the Lowe's Build and Grow Workshop, went to Costco with us and then Addie got to go play and spend the day with her and Grandma!! The kids loved having her around!

Will has discovered a love for the Wii. I am not sure the rest of us love it as much as him since it usually means one of us has to play it so he thinks he's doing it! He wakes up asking to "watch the games" and asks multiple times a day to play. It sure is cute to watch him try though! Here are a couple of videos.

We discovered Smith's in Herriman has little shopping carts! The kids were so excited and Will just HAD to have his own little cart. He did pretty well pushing it around actually.

Had to post this video of the kids dancing...Will needs to work on his moves a little!

P.S. There are a few videos in this post- if you are just getting the update via e-mail, you will have to actually click on the link to the blog to see the videos.

Another Year Older...

Clay had a birthday in January! His birthday was on a Saturday so we got to celebrate all day! The kids were so excited!

He started off with a chilly run at 6:30am! We met up with our friends, The Jones', for french toast at Kneaders and fun in the arcade at Boondocks. Clay and Zach (their oldest) share the same birthday so it was a double celebration! So fun to spend time with our friends too!

They cleaned out some toys and brought Will a bunch of Thomas stuff. He was loving the Thomas carrying case so much he just had to bring it inside Boondocks (and of course, push it around on the lovely floor)!

The kids (and Dads) all had a great time playing games, winning tickets and picking out prizes!

Clay had a birthday nap while Will was napping and I took Addie to get balloons, an oreo cake and a present! You can't have a birthday without balloons and party blowers!!! When we got back, Gaga and Grandpa Rex happened to stop by and hanging out with us the rest of the night!

Clay opened his presents...OREOS from Addie, a long-sleeved BYU shirt from Will and some books from Gaga and Grandpa Rex. After presents, we had OREO cupcakes and then went to dinner at Firehouse Subs! What a fun and busy day!

The following day, we had a birthday dinner/gathering with the Cullimore side of the family- but it was a fast one because we had to get back for a church meeting so no pictures from there. The following Sunday, we went up to Grandpa Rex and Gaga's house to celebrate the Blackham/Bailey January birthdays!

We had a yummy dinner followed by a delicious lemon chiffon cake that Gaga made and some chocolate cupcakes with PB cream cheese frosting that I made! The candles have to be exactly right and all of them have to be lit- which can be a lengthy process when you are 30+ (and your nephew keeps blowing on them while you are lighting them)! It also almost sets off the smoke detector once they are blown out!

Happy Birthday Clay!!! We LOVE you!!!

Cartwheels

Addie was trying to show off her cartwheel one night and Will decided to join in on the action. Of course, I never actually got any video of Addie doing her cartwheel but Will was hilarious.

New Year's Day 2011

Can't believe it's already 2011. The years seem to be flying by.

Our New Year's Day tradition? Pastry Wreath. Gaga makes more than we want to know and we devour almost all of them! It is so yummy.

We just hung out at Gaga's house for the day- the kids played and had a fun time and the adults talked, read books and watched TV. Nice relaxing start to the new year!

Oh yes, and I saw Will looking a little suspicious in Gaga's extra bedroom- so I went to see what he was up to and found this...

He doesn't look guilty at all does he? Apparently, there were some extra, wrapped presents in there and so he decided to open them!!! Little stinker!

Happy 2011 to all...hope it's a great year and brings great things for all of you!

Last Week of 2010!

We had a fun week after Christmas. Clay is usually off a lot of the week so we get lots of play time and a lot of time to relax after such a busy month. Here's what we did this year...

Played some Disney Wii Sing It and with trains of course...

Went bowling with our friends, The Pratts! The kids had a blast, especially Avery and Will.

Clay and Will made a cake in Addie's Easy Bake Oven (Addie was a little worried about getting burned by it so she didn't want to make it but she ate it)! There is a little video because we love how Will says birthday cake. :)

Clay took the kids to visit his friends at the Utah Jazz and then up to the capitol to visit Gaga at work and out to lunch!

Took down the Christmas decorations and tree. Will was quite unhappy about this- he sure loved the Christmas lights and trees. He kept going over and trying to hang the ornaments back on it as we took the tree apart. He even followed Clay downstairs with it trying to put them on.

Clay and Addie put together my Christmas present...a new bookshelf for our family room!

New Years Eve was pretty low key! Grandpa and Grandma and Uncle Carson came over. We made homemade pizza and then played some games. The kids went to bed around 10 and we watched a movie!!! Our favorite way to ring in the New Year!

Can't believe 2010 is over. Hoping that 2011 is a great year for everyone!!!
