Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's time for the next holiday....CHRISTMAS! Yay!
We started with the tree on Friday....
Our elf, Chimnick, came back from the North Pole on Saturday morning...
and Christmas would not be complete at the Blackham house without the leg lamp...
This year, Clay decided to go all out and had a leg lamp "lighting" party. He spent most of the afternoon making his famous homemade donuts for it! We invited neighbors, friends, family...whoever wanted to come and had donuts and hot chocolate in the garage before we "lit" the lamp.
It was a fun time! There wasn't much left when it was done!
We started Thanksgiving Day off with the Cottonwood Heights "Beat the Mayor 5K". It was a bit on the cold side this year. We bundled the kids up and Clay pushed them in the jogging stroller and we kept Sam in his carseat and I pushed him in the regular stroller.
Clay was just going to walk it- but he ended up doing some running
when he was feeling good and I kind of hung around at the finish with my
mom to get pictures of everyone coming in.
After the race, we came home and turned on the parade while we started getting things ready for Thanksgiving dinner. We decided to host the Blackham side here at our house. Clay smoked a turkey (that he'd been prepping/brining for a couple of days) using his new smoker. All the food was so delicious!!!
After dinner, we had a great time playing games!
Happy Thanksgiving from my three little turkeys!
Since Halloween was on a school day, it was kind of a busy day. Addie's parade was in the morning and then when we got her home from school, we had to start freshening everyone and their costumes up. We had our annual "Eat before you Treat" garage party at the Beins' house before all the kids went out trick-or-treating.
It was a fun day but I'm glad it's over for another year...
