October Fun

Sorry for the lack of new posts recently. We've had some computer issues and so it's been difficult to post. We've had a lot of stuff going on recently so I'll do a quick re-cap. You can look at the slideshow above to see pictures from the last few weeks.

Playgroup Fun
We went to Engh Pumpkin Patch to see all the pumpkins, play on their big pirate ship, and walk through the kiddie straw maze. Addie liked the straw maze till she got too far and couldn't see anyone anymore!

We also went down to Thanksgiving Point to their Barnyard Boo where the kids got to ride a pony, frost a cookie, make a sucker ghost, fish for spiders and bowling for ghouls. They had a great time and the weather was beautiful! Addie was so excited to ride on the pony till it was actually our turn. I did get her on the pony but she was hanging onto my neck most of the time (that's why you can't see the pony in the picture with her).

We went to the zoo one more time while the weather is still nice. There was hardly anyone there and the kids had a great time! The animals were all so active and fun to see!

Family Fun
We went to feed the ducks (and there were a lot of them) one Saturday, lots of goofing off around the house, playing with playdoh (she calls it hoops for some reason), pretending to be animals (mostly a dog or puppy), watching baseball and football (Go Red Sox & BYU), watching Elmo and Barney, eating ice cream, picking grapes and just watching Addie experience everything! It's been a lot of fun!

Outside Fun
We've been having beautiful weather lately so we've been at the playground and outside a little more this week. Addie has recently become a little braver and is now going down the biggest slide at the playground all by herself! She also likes to climb up on the tire and then lunge for the monkey bars and swing on it! Of course, we have to stop her so she doesn't dislocate her elbow again!

Addie loves to be outside. She likes to go to the playground and other outside activities, but mostly she just likes to wander around the neighborhood. She doesn't really like us to take her for walks in her stroller anymore- if we go for a walk, it's either me following her around or her pushing her monkey or baby in her doll stroller (and then me carrying her and her stroller home). Of course, anytime we go outside, no matter what we are doing, we have to stop at Bennett's house to see if he's home and can come out and play.

Other Fun
The other night, we went to dinner early and decided to stop by Petco to kill some time. Addie loved seeing all the animals. We were looking at the big tank of feeder fish and she said she wanted some. We told her we'd get some before we leave and then tried to distract her (and hope she forgot) by looking at other things. We tried to leave but she wandered her way back to where the fish were and told us she needed her fish.

We ended up getting a couple of them and Clay called them Ernie & Burt (she is obsessed with them right now). She thought that was fun so the names stuck. She was so excited about them and so proud of them. She loves to look at them (and is always trying to stick her hands in their bowl to "hold" them). It's cute and fun to see her excited about it (we've had fish in the past that she could have cared less about)!

We've got a lot going on the next week so stay tuned!

Booster Seat

Addie has graduated from her high chair to a booster seat on the chair! A few weeks ago she found the booster my aunt had given us out in the garage. She kept trying to sit in it so I decided to give it a good washing and give it a try.

Addie loves it! She loves being able to climb in and out of the chair herself and I think she loves being at the table with us.

Our carpet may suffer a little more from it but it's actually nice to be rid of the high chair that was taking up so much space.

My little girl is growing up so quickly! Only a few more weeks till she turns 2!!

Pumpkins and Popsicles

We had some nice weather this week so we decided to take advantage and go get some pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch near our house. They have a huge field of pumpkins to choose from! Addie had a great time running around and looking at all the pumpkins. She loved all the "little baby punkins" (mini pumpkins).

After picking pumpkins, we came home, put them on the porch and had popsicles! It's rarely warm enough to do that in October!

St. George Trip

This past weekend, we packed up the car and headed down to St. George for the 2007 St. George Marathon. Clay was running the marathon so we came down with him to cheer him on! This is our 3rd time and I know it won't be our last.

In the past, we've had Clay's mom go with us and she is very helpful in the car, during the race, etc. This year it didn't work for her to come with us so we braved it alone. We purchased a portable DVD player for the car and it's already been money well spent!

We left the house about 10:30 and by about 10:45-11, Addie was asking to go home already! We stopped and got a Jamba Juice and turned on her DVD player and she was in heaven!

She did great on the ride down despite sleeping for only about 45 min. Once we got there- we were pretty much busy the rest of the evening. We got back to the hotel after 9 and didn't get to sleep till after 10:30! Once she woke up the next morning, she sat up and rubbed her eyes. I asked her if she was sleepy and she burst into tears saying, "I want my bed, I want to go home"! I felt so bad! She was happy once we turned on a movie.

We went and watched Clay finish the race- he did great! I am so proud of him for running it! It's not something I could ever do! He stopped on his way to the finish and picked up Addie to carry her across the finish line. She got a little scared by all the loud music and stuff going on at the finish so she was crying (they are on the far right side-he's in a white shirt-dark shorts).

She cheered up once Daddy brought her a popsicle (practically the same size as her!)

We spent the rest of Saturday and most of Sunday hanging out with my aunt, uncle and cousins. It was a lot of fun. We enjoyed having some other kids to take care of and play with Addie so we could relax a little more. We even got to go out to dinner with just the adults once the little kids were in bed! It was great! Addie had a lot of fun spending time with them too- she still asks me where they all are!

We drove back Sunday evening and Addie did great on the way home as well....thanks to the wonderful DVD player. She was so happy to be home though. She was running around the house, rolling on the floors, laughing and giggling at everything.

I always get nervous and anxious about how it's really going to go and I'm always wrong- it always ends up being a lot of fun and a good time. See you next October St. George!

Just for fun

Just thought I'd post some fun recent pics. She's trying to grow up too fast!

Wearing Grandpa's reading glasses:

Poor Franky. Trying to put "clips" in Franky's hair (yes, she is imitating me holding the clip in my mouth when I do her hair):

So strong! Pushing Bennett and Ava's stroller (with them in it):

Coloring (yay for washable crayons!):

Lots of pumpkins!
