First Day of Kindergarten

Addie started Kindergarten! Traditional first day of school photos...

Doesn't she look adorable in her uniform!? We decided to send her to a local charter school when a spot became available to us. It was an incredibly difficult decision made 100 times harder because of the anxiety we've gone through over the last 8 months but we decided this would be a good fit for her and that we needed to give it a try (more on this later).

Of course Will had to get in on the pictures!

We had Clay walk her in because we thought it might be a little easier for her that way. After school, (Kindergarten is only a half day), we went to Red Robin to celebrate!

We have now joined the ranks of having a life ruled by school calendars...but we are looking forward to getting into a routine and to a fun year of new beginnings for Addie (who has actually chosen to be, Addison, at school). :)

So proud of you Pookie!

End of Summer

School started mid-August so we spent the first two weeks of August trying to cram as much fun stuff in as possible!!

School shopping and back to school night...

Clay and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary!

The beach in Herriman with friends and cousins...

The zoo...

Addie had a sleepover with Grandma and then we went to see Grandpa in the city production of The Wizard of Oz...

Took the kids to see Cars 2...

and had a neighborhood bike parade!!!

It's hard to believe that summer was over so quickly! We had a great summer!

California Trip- Day 8 & 9

After two busy days at Disneyland, we were so happy to have a day to just relax and play. Took it easy at the hotel and the kids enjoyed their purchases from Disneyland.

We started out at the pool so Addie could show off her new swimming skills to Clay. There were a lot of belly flops, cannonballs, some throwing, jumping and even a few dives. Will jumped in to Clay one time but the water was too cold and he didn't want to do it again! Good thing I had the video rolling!

After we finished swimming at the pool, we headed down to the beach. It was turnover day in the condos so the beach was practically empty! It was nice! We played in the water and in the sand and found lots of seashells!

James did some more sleeping on the beach while we played and then Carson and Rachelle decided to let him feel the water and the sand. He didn't mind the sand or the water till the wave brought some of the colder water flowing around him!

We stayed as long as we could at the beach...the kids had a great time running around in the calmer water as the tide was going out.

We finally packed up and headed in to get cleaned up. Will fell asleep on the way back to the hotel, slept the entire time we were in getting showered (we just took turns sitting in the car with him) and then slept the entire way back to the pier! It was like 2 hours he was asleep in the car...I think we wore him out! We had another dinner at Ruby's but since we got there so late, it was pretty cold (we were eating outside on the pier and we forgot sweatshirts) so it was a fast dinner!

We headed back to the condo for a few more pictures of the grandkids and to get the last of our stuff packed up before we headed back to the hotel for our last night. I think we all got a little sun!

Sunday morning we woke up, had a birthday breakfast with Grandpa and Grandma at the hotel then got our things packed up to leave.

Wish we could have spent more of the day with them but we had to get on our way. We finally left to drive home around noon. The drive home wasn't too bad. Of course it had it's moments and it took us A LONG time to get home but the kids were pretty good for having to be in the car for 13 hours.

It was such a fun trip with a lot of great memories made. This was one of those trips where I didn't want to come home! I could have stayed a lot longer!!! The only thing that could have made it better was if we all could have been there the whole time (some had to come late, some had to leave earlier) but it was an awesome trip. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for such a great week of fun. These are memories that we will never forget! We love you so much!!!
