When we got home, Clay decided to hurry and mow the lawn (for the first time!) before we were supposed to get a storm and the temps were going to drop. Will got his play lawn mower out and pushed that thing all over the yard with Clay. It was pretty cute. He was so mad when I had to take him away for a nap (even though he was exhausted)!

Halloween
Since October 31st was a Sunday this year, and we are in Utah, Halloween was celebrated on Saturday. We spent the morning down at the half marathon race in Provo.
That evening, right before trick-or-treating, our neighbors hosted a garage party with yummy food! We have some great neighbors! We had such a fun time, despite the pouring rain! We are really looking forward to this new tradition each year!

Will was completely mesmerized by "Big Buzz" or rather "Joe Buzz" as he called him. He stayed right by him and followed him around for most of the party!

Just as we were finishing up at the party, the rain stopped or at least calmed down so we decided to get started with the trick-or-treating. We went to "Joe Buzz's house" first and Will just wanted to go inside and hang out with him! Forget trick-or-treating! I ran home to start handing out candy and when they walked past our house and Will saw me, he decided he was done and wanted to come inside with me!

We stayed in and ate and passed out candy and played with Gaga and Aidan while Clay and Addie went around the neighborhood. When they came back, I went out with Addie and a few of our neighbors in their car- and that is the only way to trick-or-treat in the cold! We sat in the car and stayed warm and just followed them along the street! It was great! We missed Bennett stopping by so Addie and I ran over there so she could say hi and see him!

It was a fun Halloween- now on to November!!!

Halloween Half Marathon
The morning of Halloween (Saturday- here in Utah), Clay and a few of our neighbors ran the Halloween Half Marathon down in Provo. We got pretty lucky with the weather- it was pretty mild and not too cold the first half of the day (unfortunately it didn't stay that way). All the wives and kids carpooled down to the finish to cheer them on and see them finish. The kids had a great time playing around in the dry river bed and we had a great spot on the final stretch to the finish.
This is a crazy bunch of guys as you can see from the pictures but they had a fun time training and doing this together. I'm sure this will be one of many race pictures to come...
Halloween Activities
We carved pumpkins the Monday night before Halloween. The kids loved it- especially Will. He loved drawing on it, poking it and scooping it out. Addie has not liked to scoop it out in the past (too gross for her) but since Will was doing it, she decided to give it a try! She decided it really wasn't that bad! The pumpkins turned out great!

The Friday before Halloween, Addie had a party at school and they got to wear their costumes. She was Belle this year and loved getting all dressed up, having princess hair and a crown and getting makeup put on! She made a BEAUTIFUL Belle!!

Since she was already dressed up, I put Will in his Buzz Lightyear costume and after we picked Addie up from school, we headed over to see Dad at work. We also went to visit Grandpa's work and Grandma's house to show off the costumes and do some trick-or-treating (see the video)!

Pierced Ears!
Addie has been asking to get her ears pierced for a few months now. We told her that if she still wanted them pierced on her birthday, we would do that for her birthday present this year. She still wanted them pierced despite knowing all about it and that it was going to hurt!

We took her to Claire's to get them pierced the weekend before her birthday. We went on the weekend because they had two people working and they could pierce both ears at the same time. She picked out some cute little pink crystal flowers - very "Addie". She was nervous but so excited.

Once they were done, she tried so hard to be brave but pretty quickly burst into tears. Poor thing. After a bit of crying, we showed her what they looked like and we got a smile out of her!

I'm so glad we did it when we could get both ears done at the same time because I'm not sure she would have gone through with the 2nd ear after having the 1st one done! Here is a video of it that Clay took!
She looks so cute and grown up with her ears pierced!

Happy Birthday Addie! You are such a beautiful girl and we love you.
