What?

Clay: Hey, Addie, want some blueberries?
Addie: What?
Clay: Do you want some blueberries?
Addie What?
Clay: Blueberries? Want some?
Addie: What?
Clay: What did I just say?
Addie: Do I want some blueberries.
Clay: So why do you keep asking "What?"?
Addie: What?

That is the type of response we've been getting from Addie lately. I thought adolescence and the overly annoying behavior didn't begin until 12 or 13, but it seems to have reared its ugly head early. The stinker asks "What?" after everything now. Not sure if she is having a hard time hearing, but it's amazing how annoying it gets.

Just so you know, the "what" stage is usually followed by the "why" stage. And so far it hasn't let up. No advice here but if I think of some, I'll share.

At least you get "what." Whenever I ask Elise something all she says is "no!" Though sometimes, when she realizes what I'm actually asking (like if she wants a treat or something) she'll change her answer.
