A is also for Addie!

While we have been through a lot with Addie over the last 6 months, there are still a lot of positive and fun things about Addie that I want to share and remember!

Addie is now 5 1/2 years old (the half is very important to her right now)! She continues to be our sweet, loving, beautiful girl and is growing and getting prettier every day!

She is also growing taller! It used to be that she could wear shorts and shirts and sometimes even pants for two summers but that is no longer the case! She's just getting too tall for all her summer clothes from last year! It's amazing to see how much they really do grow and change in a year.

She has also hit the goofy, silly stage that comes along with this age. We see it in her interactions with her friends and in PICTURES! She is like her dad and doesn't like having her picture taken all the time but when she does let me take it- it's usually a goofy or crazy face.

Addie has always known that her real name is Addison (since that's what she gets called when she's in trouble!) but for some reason it has never really registered. One day, she told me she had a friend who always called her Addison and I said, well, that's your real name, we just call you Addie. A few days later, her papers at school started coming home with Addison written on them instead of Addie! She still usually calls herself Addie but I do see or hear Addison from time to time.

She is a good big sister to her little brother, Will, and can't wait till he's old enough to share a room with her (I'm sure this will change quickly once he's actually in her room and playing with all her stuff!) Like all siblings, they have their moments where they don't get along or are bugging each other but she is sweet and thoughtful towards him most of the time. She is very mothering to him which sometimes he loves and sometimes he does NOT. She's always picking him up and trying to carry him around, getting him out of his crib and loves it when she gets to go get him from the neighbors house or from nursery without one of us with her.

Like Will, Addie LOVES to be outside! She loves riding her bike, jumping on the trampoline, climbing the basketball pole, riding her two wheeler scooter, going to the park, digging in the sandbox and garden (including digging up some of my tulips and trying to re-plant them), playing sports and being with her friends. She also likes to play house, paint her nails, do crafts and make things with her friends. She can be a bit of a girly girl but has no problem playing with the boys and doing more "boy" type activities.

Addie loves to sing and she's pretty good at it too. She sings all throughout the day- but especially in the car. She likes to sing along to Sugarland, Taylor Swift, primary songs, and some of the Disney movie songs. She likes to watch movies and TV (she can navigate netflix & apple TV like a pro)- some of her favorites right now are Rapunzel, Curious George, Garfield, and Strawberry Shortcake. She also enjoys playing on the computer, iPad or on our iPhones. Her favorite place to eat is McDonald's but like most kids, it's pretty much only for the toy in the happy meal. :) Her favorite foods are grilled cheese, plain spaghetti noodles, fruit, oreos, granola bars and she even likes most veggies.

Even though she's been a little bit more reserved and shy lately, she still loves attention once she's feeling comfortable. She loves being around her aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents- especially for sleepovers and being crazy with them! She also loves to eat grapefruit thanks to Grandpa!

We just love her to pieces. It's hard to believe she's already almost six years old- the years have flown by. Wish we could keep her from growing up and getting bigger! While some days and nights we have difficulty with her, sometimes due to the anxiety and sometimes just because it comes with the age, she continues to bring happiness and a zest for life that are hard to find. We are grateful to have her in our family.

Love you Pookie!
