Addie's 7th Birthday was on a Saturday so she got to be home and celebrate the whole day! Started off with a little snuggling and TV watching followed by a healthy breakfast! ;)
Once she was dressed, we let her open her presents from us. She had been asking for an American Girl Doll for about 6 months so that's what she got! She was excited.
Will was pretty excited to give her some "girl" legos and Sam gave her the next Diary of a Wimpy Kid book to read.
Once the presents were all opened, it was time to finish the party preparations and get ready for the party!
We live in a neighborhood with a TON of girls her age! It makes it easier to find someone to play with but when it's birthday party time, it makes for a big crowd. Add in old friends, cousins and school friends and it's a small army!!! We hosted them at our house last year and went all out but we didn't want to do it again and luckily, we figured out a way to still have a fun party and include everyone she wanted without going broke!
We had everyone meet at our house and loaded them into vans (thank goodness for Grandpa's 15 passenger company van, a friend and Gaga) and then drove them to the $1 movies to see Brave! We ended up having 21 girls!!!
We got them all settled in their seats and then put the popcorn into individual popcorn bags and poured sprite into the disposable cups with lids/straws and passed them down the rows. They did great- most of them stayed put in their seat the whole movie and only a few needed drink/popcorn refills. I think they all enjoyed it.
After the movie, we loaded back into the cars and came back to our house to open presents and sing Happy Birthday/have cupcakes. The "popcorn" cupcakes were a big hit!
Addie is such a lucky girl to have so many great friends. She got a ton of fun things that should keep her busy for awhile!
Such a fun celebration! Thanks to Gaga and Ana for coming to help out!
After her party, we headed out to dinner at In N Out (her choice). She loves their grilled cheese! Easy enough for us!
Her celebration continued the next day at Grandma's house for her family birthday dinner. Grandma made a giant pot of plain spaghetti (her choice)! Luckily there was sauce for the rest of us! She was also once again spoiled with some fun presents from Grandma & Grandpa and her aunts and uncles.
As if that wasn't enough, the following day at school, they were celebrating her birthday AND it was Bring your Mom to lunch day. Luckily we learned after Bring your Dad to lunch day that you didn't HAVE to do the chicken patty hot lunch so I brought McDonald's for her. Clay was running a little late to watch the boys so Sam and Will came and had lunch with us too.
What a great birthday! Happy #7 Addison!!! We love you!
