Preschool!

Last week was Addie's first day of preschool! She is actually attending preschool at the elementary school Clay went to! It went great! I think putting her in those summer camps this past July really helped her to have a better understanding of what school is and to feel more comfortable about being left.

She is usually very difficult to get pictures of (never smiling and looking at the same time) but decided to put on a little modeling session when I took her outside for some pictures before we left. She was definitely proud of herself. She looks so cute and grown up.

The first day was just an orientation day and was for the kids and parents. Just to give us all an idea of what they usually do and introduce them to the teachers. It was fun to see her experience it.

They read the book, The Kissing Hand. Part way through the story, her teacher asked them who gives them kisses and hugs (of course, expecting them to say their mom & dad). Addie promptly replied, "Bennett"! After the book, they got to make a frame for their picture on the wall and then went on a jungle safari complete with a safari hat and binoculars!

Of course, everything was followed up by snacks! Addie was thrilled they had little pitchers and she could pour her milk herself!

The second day was her first full day and without me there. She did great- went in with no problems and had a great time. I was not sad to see her go....I'm excited for her to have some new experiences and just looking forward to this new phase in life. It will be good for her to learn to take direction from other people, be with other kids without me there, etc.

We are so proud of her! She's growing up so fast!
