Sick Will
The end of June, Clay had to go out of town for work again. Will had been ornery and cranky all weekend (at the wedding of course) and was just kind of out of sorts by Tuesday. I finally decided to take him to the Dr. because it was just so unlike him. Turns out he had an ear infection and an eye infection. So glad I took him in.
Of course, two infections means antibiotics and eye drops for me to give him 2 x a day! He used to be so good at taking medicine but now he doesn't like it at all and spits it all out if I'm not careful. I tried mixing his amoxacillan with numerous things but it's not very easy when he's pretty much only eating milk, pretzels and popsicles. After a couple of days and things not improving, I just had to be mean mommy and pin him down and squirt it in the back of his cheek (I did give him a candy after each time as a reward though!). He was not impressed. :)
I usually don't mind when Clay goes out of town, I try to work on some projects and catch up on my DVR stuff at nights when the kids are in bed. Unfortunately, Will's sleep was awful this time and so I spent most of the time just dealing with him. The first night, he'd been up so much by 9:00 that I just decided to get him up and let him watch Toy Story for a little bit. Of course, he just wanted to play and before I know it, addie heard him and wanted to come out too. So, I let her come down as long as they watched the movie. That didn't last long, and next thing I know, it's 10:00 and they are running around the house, playing the piano, etc! They finally went to bed around 10:30 that night.
Of course, the next night- he wanted to get back out of his bed and to come downstairs (you give them an inch and they take a mile- even at this age)! Such a stinker! We had a few more really rough nights of bedtimes and naptimes and then things improved a little bit in the sleep department. We were all really glad when Clay was back home to help out!About two weeks after he started on the meds for the ear infection, we started to get our happy, sweet, good sleeping Will back! We are so glad!! We really missed him!

Tough week. Glad he is doing better. The good news? he is so darling!
Awww, poor little guy and poor you! It's no fun to have to force medicine and deal with that all by yourself. Just goes to show what a good mom you are!
