Kindergarten Graduation

The very last day of school was Kindergarten Graduation!  They gave out awards and had a little program.  Grandma and James came to watch along with Clay, Will and I.

They sang a few songs (The Star Spangled Banner, America the Beautiful, My Country Tis of Thee), recited the Preamble to the Constitution and a portion of the Declaration of Independence.

Addie was awarded the Most Observant award by her teachers.  They hit that one right on the nose!

I can't believe she has completed Kindergarten and her first year of elementary school!  We have absolutely LOVED the school, her teacher and the aides.  They made it such a fabulous experience and such a positive one for Addison (she goes by this at school- not Addie).

We had a few ups and downs and the last few months of school became a bit of a challenge with her anxiety.  Her teachers were so patient to help her work through it and keep her at school everyday.  She really loved school and made some great new friends.  I know she didn't love the homework but she learned so much! We were so impressed! By the end of the year, they were doing addition and subtraction on a 1st grade level, reading, and having spelling tests.

We feel very lucky to have been able to be at this school and to have such a great start to her education.

We are so proud of you Addie!!! On to FIRST GRADE!!!!!
