California....here we come!

In late July, we headed out on a trip to Oceanside, California with my side of the family. We have been planning this trip for a long time and we were so happy when it finally arrived. Addie had a countdown calendar on her door for two months (when we first put it up- she just wanted to cross all the days off right away thinking that would make it come faster)!!

The night before we left, she got all the money out of her piggy bank and counted it up. She ended up having around $23.00 to take with her to spend (at Disneyland of course).

We started out bright and early on a Saturday morning. Unfortunately, Clay was needed at Scout Camp for a few days and Grandpa had to stay for Butlerville Days so they didn't make the drive with us. We met up with my mom, brothers and sister-in-laws in Provo, got a jamba juice and headed out!

We stopped a few times for food, bathroom breaks and once at a McDonald's play place so the kids could run some energy off. It took us a good 13-14 hours to get down there but the kids did really well and it really didn't feel that long. Thank goodness Grandma was in the car with us to help out with the kids.


We finally arrived at the hotel in Oceanside late on Saturday night. Will wasn't a fan of it. It's been about 1.5 years since he slept in a hotel so he was a little weirded out by it all (and tired on top of it). He wouldn't go near the pack n play so we all ended up sleeping in the bed...with me in the middle (because they both wanted to sleep by me). It doesn't matter how big a bed is, my kids will sleep RIGHT next to you and they sure did! Not a very good night of sleep for me but they slept good.
