The drive down to St. George was not bad at all. We stopped once for a diaper change, to feed Will and let the kids get some air, then back on the road. The kids did great in the car- watched movies and played.
That night we just got settled in the hotel (Will was loving all the space to move around), and then got Olive Garden takeout to eat in the room. We know from past experience that pasta restaurants there are just ridiculous the night before the marathon. We were all in bed by 9 and asleep by 10.
Saturday morning, Clay got up at 4:30 to leave for the marathon. We had breakfast and got ready then drove over to see Clay finish. We just missed him though....we thought he was already done and headed towards the end area about the time he was crossing! He finished in 4 hrs. 15 min. but didn't feel too great after or during the race. We are so proud of him though!
We headed back to the hotel, Clay and Will took a nap and Addie and I went shopping with Gaga, Grandpa Rex and Aunt Livi. After the boys were up from their naps, we went swimming then out to dinner.
Clay took Will back to the hotel for bedtime and Addie and I went and wandered around Target for a bit. Then, back to the hotel and bedtime for us! The weather was beautiful. We always love St. George in October!
*Sorry there are no pictures. The card that I have the pictures on from this part of the trip is currently locked and I can't get them. I am hoping we can figure out a way to salvage them so I can come back and add some pictures.
