Day 8- SEA WORLD!

After a late night at Disneyland, we were up early and packing up to leave Anaheim for the start of our trip home. Our last stop on this trip was Sea World. We drove down to San Diego and arrived at Sea World just after it opened.

We headed straight over to one of the Shamu shows. It was a training show and it was fun to see how they train the whales. The kids seemed to enjoy it. It certainly is amazing to see what those whales can do!

We wanted to go to the Sea Lion show but it was full, so instead we visited the bat rays, where a few of the group actually fed them, the dolphins (which were a bit of a disappointment- you can only get up close and touch them if you pay!)

We went to see the penguins and polar bears then headed back over to see the actual Shamu show. Addie wasn't very interested- she just climbed around the bleachers and asked why we were watching it again. She got into it a little bit when it was time for Shamu to do the "splash" thing but she ended up disappointed that she didn't get splashed (we didn't think she'd want to- so we didn't sit in the soak zone!)

We grabbed some lunch then ran over to the Pets Rule show. Will enjoyed bouncing to the music and they liked seeing the dogs. We then headed over to the Sesame Street Bay of Play to let the kids explore and have some fun. Will got tired so I walked around with him so he could nap and then we went back to the Sesame Street play area and he got to meet Elmo and Zoe.

We met back up with the cousins and the kids played for a little bit. By 5:00, we were all done so we decided to head out.

Sea World was not as big of a hit as we expected it to be. We're sure it's because we went after being at Disneyland and because we were all so tired but we won't be going to Sea World again for awhile.

It was a long drive that night- we drove all the way from San Diego to St. George. We had horrible traffic through a lot of California and again in Vegas. The kids both finally fell asleep for the night around 10pm so we just kept on driving. We arrived in St. George about 1:30am (2:30am- MST) only to discover it was the Senior Games and hotel rooms were scarce! Luckily, we found one and got the kids into bed (surprisingly, without them really even waking up).
